Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers

ElectricianMatch (electricianmatchusa.com) is a referral service. You tell us what electrical job you need and your ZIP code, and we send the request to one independent electrical company that serves your area. This policy covers this website, its forms and the phone number it shows. It does not cover the electrical companies, which have their own policies. In this policy, "we" means ElectricianMatch.

What we collect

We collect four kinds of information.

  • What you type into our forms: your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code and the job you picked, plus anything you write in a message to us.
  • A record of your consent: the exact wording you were shown, its version, and the date and time you agreed.
  • Technical details sent along with a form: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you were on and the page that sent you. Your IP address also gives us a rough location.
  • Call details, if you phone the number on the site: the number you called from, the time and how long the call lasted.

Why we collect it

We use it to pass your request to an electrical company and to contact you about it if you agreed to that. We also use it to keep proof of what you asked for and agreed to, to spot fraud and abuse, to run and improve the site, and to meet our legal duties. We do not collect sensitive information such as health or financial account details, and we ask you not to put any in a message.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising cookies. Our host, Cloudflare, handles every request to the site and may set security cookies or keep logs to protect it. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser or device, and collects no personal data. If we add another analytics tool, we will name it here and, where the law requires, ask before it starts.

Who receives it

Your request goes to one independent electrical company that serves your ZIP code, or to a referral partner that places requests with that company on its behalf. The consent line on the form says so before you send anything. We do not send the same request to a list of companies.

Three kinds of service provider also handle data for us: our web host, the tool that routes your request to the matched company, and the call-tracking service behind our phone number. They may use your data only to do that job for us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to answer a lawful request, to protect someone's safety, or if the business is sold or reorganised.

Sale and sharing of information

An electrical company or its partner pays us when we send it your request. Some state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, treat that as a sale or a sharing of personal information. The information involved is your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code and the job you chose. You can opt out on our Do Not Sell or Share page, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out where the law says we must. We do not knowingly sell or share information about anyone under 16.

Calls and texts

If you tick the consent box, ElectricianMatch and the one company your request goes to, or a referral partner acting for it, may call and text you about that request, including with an autodialer or a prerecorded voice, even if your number is on a national or state Do Not Call list. You do not have to agree to buy anything. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to a text to end texts from that sender. Because opting out with one sender does not reach another, use our opt-out page as well, or write to support@electricianmatchusa.com.

How long we keep it

We keep requests and consent records as long as we need them to run the service, show what you agreed to and meet legal duties, then delete them or strip out the personal details. We do not keep them indefinitely. Messages sent through the contact form are kept until we have dealt with them, and a reasonable time after that.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop selling or sharing it. If you live in California, Colorado, Virginia or Connecticut, state law gives you these rights, and you also have the right not to be treated worse for using them. We offer the same choices to residents of every state, whether or not a state law requires it.

To make a request, write to support@electricianmatchusa.com from the email address you used on your request, or use the contact page, so we can find your record. We may ask a question or two to confirm it is you, and you can use an authorised agent if you give them written permission. If we turn a request down, you can appeal by replying with the word Appeal and your reason. The electrical company that received your request keeps its own copy, so ask it separately to delete yours.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections to the site. No system is completely safe, and we cannot promise that yours will be.

Children

The service is for adults who own or manage a home. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Changes and contact

When we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new date. Questions go to support@electricianmatchusa.com or the contact page. Mailing address (privacy service): 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, Delaware 19958.
